In today's story, we witness an extraordinary event that reminds us of the majesty and power of Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) - the story of a man who was declared dead and later came back to life.
This astonishing story took place in Egypt and quickly made headlines across newspapers and TV channels. It begins with a group of young men visiting a cemetery to pay respects to a deceased relative. After the burial and prayers, most of the group left, but one young man remained behind, deeply attached to the deceased.
As darkness approached, he began walking back to his friends but suddenly heard strange noises - cries coming from one of the graves. At first, he thought it was his imagination, but the sounds grew louder and unmistakable. Nervous but determined, he approached the grave, which in Egypt often resembles a chamber with a door and several burial spaces inside.
Inside the chamber, he heard someone screaming, "I am alive! Open the door!" Initially, the caretaker of the cemetery, known as the Turabi, dismissed his claims. But as the cries persisted, the young men went to fetch the police. When the authorities arrived, they forced open the grave, discovering a man so emaciated and fragile that his bones were visible, his hair gray, and his body covered in dried blood from injuries sustained while trying to move.
This man, Hussein, had been mistakenly declared dead by an untrained doctor after collapsing from exhaustion and low blood sugar - he was diabetic and had worked almost 24 hours straight without food or rest.
Hussein was rushed to the hospital, where he eventually regained consciousness after several months of treatment. Tragically, the Turabi caretaker and Hussein's mother both passed away due to shock upon witnessing the event. Hussein's fiancé chose not to continue their engagement, and he now lives a simple life with his siblings, using crutches due to the injuries he sustained during the ordeal.
This miraculous story carries profound lessons for all of us:
Hussein's survival is a rare testament to Allah's power and mercy. His story, though tragic in parts, inspires gratitude and reverence for the divine control over life and death. May Allah grant us wisdom to appreciate our lives, protect our loved ones, and remain steadfast in faith.
